The Mystery of The Sphinx

The Mystery Of The Sphinx

When we look at mysterious and symbolic monuments created during the existence of human civilization on Earth it is very difficult to find many so mysterious well-known old wonders as the famous statue of the Egyptian Sphinx in Giza. Was it an imaginary dream of an old architect to build the strange creature that lies until these days in the shadow of the pyramids? Maybe it was a joke of an ancient god to connect natures of so different beings in one existence and then throw the hybrid on this planet far from archipelagos of other stars. I can imagine it rather with its brothers and sisters in the sky than the stone figure down here looking at human misery and flooded from time to time by the desert sand storms. When I saw the first time the creature with a body of a lion and a human head, I knew that the amazing being brought us an important old message. A secret knowledge hidden deep inside like a sealed letter from another world that wants to be open. This is not only a symbol of old ancient remains or a relict of Egyptian cosmogony and beliefs but also the mystery of our human nature and maybe even a secret of our origin and destiny.

We have to remember that the Egyptian Sphinx was not the only one in the history of human civilization. In European mythological tradition we find its sister who ones guarded gates of the oldest Greek cites: ancient Thebes. The questions she gives us again and again as she did it in the old times are: Who are you? Who are we as humans? She is still there and patiently waiting for answers. If you know it then you can pass the gate to flow in your new life, and maybe she can tell you this time: This is a true path! I guess it is not easy to find the right answer for anyone and we always have to remember who gave us the clever riddle. We have to keep in mind that the creature with wings can fly very high and the body of a cat and a human head are parts of our lives. We have to remember Oedipus and his tragic destiny and if we do it, the next question on the table is: can the knowledge change our fate? I really believe it. If I am not arrogant in my life and I always have in mind that one card we can find on our path is the wheel of fortune, I can go that way without fear.
The sphinx is not only a myth. I can feel it inside every time. Sometimes when I try to keep myself very quiet I can hear some old stories about me and all of us and I tell you: These stories have really hypnotic eyes!
